** spoiler alert ** I loved this book. It was my first Kristin Hannah book - even though I own most of her work - and now I can't wait to read another one. I cried - several times. I seriously can't tell you the last time I cried when reading a book and reading the last 2/3rds of this one, caused me to cry and cry. The first 1/3 of this book was just blah to me though.
I will say that I almost couldn't stand Jude's mourning - how it carried on for years and years and the fact that she was so hateful about it. Also, I was glad for the way it ended - I could see no other ending and it would've ruined it for me if it was any other way.
Anyhow, I will definitely recommend this one!!
Wow Wow Wow! Another grand slam for Heather Gudenkauf. A twisted tale of love, lies, betrayal and devotion. I think I have a new favorite author. I will definitely recommend this book!
WOW! I think that's a good word for this book. This is a book that Harlan Coben wrote but never published - I'm not sure what made him to decide to publish it now but I'm glad he did. It was really good. I must say that I thought some of it was a little far fetched but Harlan does a very good job at stringing you along with no clear answers for a long time leaving you guessing the whole time.
Definite recommend for anyone who likes a good mystery/suspense.
Let me just say that if I could, I would give this book 6 stars! Fantastic thriller. I haven't read a thriller this good in a long long time. This author scares me with the way he thinks and his ability to write it. It was creepy, scary and funny at times with likable characters. I will definitely read more of his work. Someone said this book was predictable and I found it to be anything BUT predictable and I really like that in a book. I couldn't put it down.
I will definitely recommend this book to anyone!
Ok. Let's see. I thought this was a very cute book. It was filled with happiness, sadness, love, hate, drama, scandal and, of course, sex. I only gave it 4 stars bc I didn't think there was anything superb about it, just chick-lit but it was still cute. The one problem I had was trying to keep all the girls (and their men) straight. I would definitely recommend.
I loved this book. I loved both girls but thought Emma was my favorite - what a little whippersnapper. I'm sure I'll read more by this author. Held my interest all the way through with some very hard topics.
What a wonderful book. I loved the characters, they were all so well defined and I was able to laugh and cry with them.
This is a story about a young girl, Skeeter, who wants to be a reporter and has to come up with a good story in order to get published so she decides to interview "The Help" - or the maids - to get their point of view. At first they are afraid to talk because of the consequences that they will pay but slowly, one at a time, they tell their story.
It's so sad to think we lived in those times and treated other human beings that way.
Highly recommend.
